In SFactrix, Asset Controller function helps to record the number of quality product (Quantity) produced in the manufacturing orders. This feature also helps to keep count of the number of scrap (rejection) produced. Scrap are the products that does not pass the QC (Quality Check) or the products that does not meet the specifications of the customer. Capturing production counts and quality count helps in calculating the performance and efficiency of the operations. Hence it is important to capture meaningful production data to obtain more meaningful insights on the performance and efficiency of manufacturing operations.

How to run the production operations?

SFactrix allows to capture production quantities and scrap through user entry interface through web and operator mobile app or using IoT connectivity with machines through Fogwing IIoT Platform. When the machine is connected through secured IoT gateway, system can automatically capture machine status, production cycle count.

Pre-Condition:

  • There should be an valid Job associated to the asset to operate asset and capture production quantity.

Steps to enter the number of Production count:

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • Click on 'Asset Controller' on the Dashboard page (top right corner)

  • Select a valid Job (Job which is valid as per current date) from the drop-down menu. Once you selected the Job, the asset linked to the Job will automatically be displayed.

  • Click on 'Start' button on the Asset Controller to indicate that asset or machine is in running state (if the application is not connected through IoT Gateway). If the machine is already running physically, then just click the button to start the process.

  • Enter the number of Quantity Produced. You can use 'Increase by 5' or 'Increase by 10' to indicate the number in multiples of 5 and 10 respectively. You can also enter the number of quantity produced directly in the column as shown below.

  • Once you enter the number, you can use the '+' or '-' button to increase or decrease the number respectively.

  • Click on 'Submit. You have now entered the number of quantity produced successfully.

Note: The number of quantity produced will not be exceed the number of Job order quantity.

How to record rejection or scrap count of production?

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • Click on 'Asset Controller' on the Dashboard page (top right corner)

  • Select a valid Job (Job which lies in the current date) from the drop-down menu. Once you selected the Job, the asset linked to the Job will automatically be displayed.

  • Click on 'Start' button on the Asset Controller to indicate that asset or machine is in running state. If the machine is already running physically, then just click the button to start the process.

  • Click on the 'Quality Check' tab.

  • Enter the number of rejection count produced. You can use 'Increase by 5' or 'Increase by 10' to indicate the number in multiples of 5 and 10 respectively. You can also enter the number of rejection items produced directly in the column as shown below.

  • Once you enter the number, you can use the '+' or '-' button to increase or decrease the number respectively.

  • You must enter the reason for rejection. The inbuilt AI system capture these entries to prepare the defect trend analysis metrics. so you should enter valid entry for proper reports.

  • Click on 'Submit'. You have now entered the number of rejection count successfully.

Note: The total number of rejection quantity should not exceed the number of production count.

How to measure Job Progress?

Job Progress bar on Controller page of SFactrix indicates the progress of a particular Job expressed as a percentage.

For example (as depicted above), if the Job order quantity is 30 and Good Quality products produced is (quantity produced - Rejection ) = 22 - 5 = 17, then,

Job Progress = Good quality products / Order quantity * 100 = (17 / 30) * 100 = 56.6%
