Learn to run the production execution and quality check in factory floor using SFactrix MES Application

In SFactrix, the Production Controls function helps to record the part quantity produced and number of quality counts (good quality) produced in the manufacturing orders. Capturing production count and quality count helps calculate the operations' performance and efficiency. Hence it is important to capture meaningful production data to obtain more meaningful insights into the performance and efficiency of manufacturing operations.

How to record the shop-floor production execution?

SFactrix allows the factory users to capture production quantities and scrap through the production control interface via the web and operator mobile app provided. Customer may also automate the production data capturing from machines (PLC or SCADA) using IoT connector via Fogwing IIoT Platform. When the machine is connected through a secured IoT gateway, the system can automatically capture the machine status, and production cycle count.

Pre-Conditions:

  • There should be a valid order associated with the asset to operate the asset and capture production quantity.

  • Work-center shift hours should be entered as the shift-report will be generated based on the shift hours.

Steps to enter the number of good counts produced:

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • Click on 'Production Controller' on the Dashboard page (top right corner)

  • Select a valid Job (Job which is valid as per the current date) from the drop-down menu > select the shift number.

  • Once you selected the Job, the asset linked to the Job will automatically be displayed.

  • Click on the 'Start' button on the Asset Controller to indicate that the asset or machine is in running state (if the application is not connected through IoT Gateway). If the machine is already running physically, then just click the button to start the process.

  • Enter the number of Quantity produced. Using 'Increase +" or 'Increase -' buttons, you can indicate the quantity numbers respectively. You can also enter the number of total quantity produced directly in the column as shown below.

  • Once you enter the number, you can use the '+' or '-' button to increase or decrease the number respectively.

  • Click on 'Submit. You have now entered the number of quantity produced successfully.

Note: The number of quantity produced should not exceed the number of Job order quantity.

How to record rejection or scrap count of production?

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • Click on 'Asset Controller' on the Dashboard page (top right corner)

Rejection count
  • Select a valid Job (Job which lies in the current date) from the drop-down menu. Once you selected the Job, the asset linked to the Job will automatically be displayed.

  • Click on 'Start' button on the Asset Controller to indicate that asset or machine is in running state. If the machine is already running physically, then just click the button to start the process.

  • Click on the 'Quality Check' tab.

  • Enter the number of rejection count produced. You can use 'Increase by +' or 'Increase by -' to indicate the numbers respectively. You can also enter the number of rejection items produced directly in the column as shown below.

  • Once you enter the number, you can use the '+' or '-' button to increase or decrease the number respectively.

  • You must enter the reason for rejection. The inbuilt AI system capture these entries to prepare the defect trend analysis metrics. so you should enter valid entries for accurate reports.

  • Click on 'Submit'. You have now entered the number of rejections count successfully.

Note: The total number of rejection quantity should not exceed the number of production count.

How to monitor Job Progress from production control?

Job Progress bar on production control page of SFactrix indicates the progress of a particular Job expressed as a percentage.

For example (as depicted above), if the Job order quantity is 30 and Good Quality products produced is (quantity produced - Rejection) = 22 - 5 = 17, then,

Job Progress = Good quality products / Order quantity * 100 = (17 / 30) * 100 = 56.6%

How to submit end of shift report in SFactrix?

SFactrix application provides operator to record the production counts periodically through production and quality check tab or alternatively submit the end of the shift report through the "Shift Report" feature.

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • Click on 'Production Controller' on the dashboard page (top right corner)

  • Click on the 'Shift' Report tab on the production control page.

  • Choose a valid job (Job which lies in the current date) in the drop-down list.

  • Select shift no. in the drop-down list.

  • Once you selected the Job and shift no, the Shift report will be automatically generated.

Shift-wise report
  • The shift report will display the Good Quantity production, rejection count per shift, and the reason for rejection.

    Note: Shift report is generated based on every 1-hour time slot's production output.

    Can I edit/ update the shift report submitted?

    Yes, the Shift report can be edited or updated manually if the user wants to make any changes before end of the shift or within the same shift day.

  • To edit or update the shift report, click on the edit logo under ''Action'' on the Shift report page.

  • Update Shift Report page will appear. Make the necessary changes and click on the 'update' button.
