Fogwing Asset+ CMMS support IoT based asset condition monitoring to trigger preventive maintenance work orders. In order to configure the Fogwing Asset+ CMMS to connect with any device, you should have IoT subscription within Asset+ CMMS software.
This article is about installation of Fogwing Asset+ device for your factory environment.
Fogwing Asset+ Edge Device Overview:
Fogwing Asset+ Edge Device is high performance industry grade IoT device comes with current, vibration, noise and temperature sensors. It can connect any equipment and start tracking the performance parameters such as current usage, machine vibration, noise and temp level. How to Install Fogwing Asset+ Edge Device?
Please follow the instructions provided below to install Fogwing Asset+ Edge Device for asset condition monitoring.
Find a stable place where the Fogwing Asset+ Edge can be placed near to the equipment or machine.
Find a place where power adapter can be connected. Connect power adapter to the Fogwing Asset+ Edge device’s power port located at the right bottom side. Switch-On and power up the device.
Use the 5V 2.5A DC Power Adapter included in the box to connect and power up the device. This ensures proper functionality and safe operation.
Wi-Fi Configuration:
The following steps will guide you on how to enable inbuilt WIFI to make the device to connect with factory WIFI network.
To configure Wi-Fi for the Asset+ Edge device, power up the device with micro-USB adapter provided along with package.
Wait for few mins until device gets booted.
Go to your mobile phone or laptop to search for “AssetPlus” WIFI network and connect to it. Enter “fogwingassetplus” as password to connect to WIFI network.
To proceed with the Wi-Fi configuration, open your web browser and enter the following URL: http://192.168.1.1/ This will direct you to the Wi-Fi configuration window.
In the Wi-Fi configuration window, locate and click on the "Scan" button. This will display a list of available networks in the vicinity.
From the list, select your desired network. Enter the password for the selected network in the designated field.
Finally, click on the "Submit" button to establish a connection to the Wi-Fi network.
Once the device is connected to your factory WIFI network, the “Online” LED on the device will start blinking, indicating that the device is connected to the network.
However, if the connection fails or if you entered the wrong password, long press configuration button for 3 seconds and you will see the “AssetPlus” access point again, then you can repeat the same steps mentioned earlier to connect to the Wi-Fi network again.
Sensor Connection:
The below image shows the various sensor ports of the Asset+ Edge device.
Connecting Current Sensor
Plug non-Invasive current sensor to the 3.5mm jack located at the left-bottom side of the Fogwing Asset+ Edge device.
Clip the sensor to power source connected to the machine or equipment to monitor.
If any of the sensors are connected the Sensor indicator on the device will turn to Green. If none are connected it will be Red.
Connecting Vibration & Temperature:
Plug the Vibration sensor provided with the kit to the respective sensor port indicated on the Asset+ edge device.
Stick the Vibration/Temperature sensor to the part of the machine where you need to measure vibration or temperature.
For example, if you want to measure vibration and Temperature of a motor , please fix it on the motor body.
If any of the sensors are connected the Sensor indicator on the device will turn to Green. If none are connected it will be Red.
Connecting Loudness sensor to Fogwing Asset+ Edge:
Loudness sensor can be used to monitor the noise of the machine or equipment.
Fix the Loudness sensor near to the machine or equipment which the noise needs to be monitored.Make sure that the loudness sensor is facing the machine side to properly measure the noise.
Loudness sensor is provided with 2 meters of cable with a 3.5mm connector.Plug the sensor to the respective port on the Asset+ device.
If any of the sensors are connected the Sensor indicator on the device will turn to Green. If none are connected it will be Red.
STOP:
Do not connect any other sensor other than specified and provided by us. If connected incorrectly it can potentially damage Asset+ Edge device’s sensor Port! Verify the port once again, If there is any doubt, please feel free to contact us.

Use the Power Adaptor provided only or with similar power rating else device may damage.
Keep the device away from heavy dust areas for longer sensing life
