Asset categorization is a foundational aspect of effective asset management, allowing organizations to organize and classify their assets based on various criteria such as type, location, function, or criticality.
1. How do you add an Asset Category to the Fogwing Asset+ Platform?
Creating meaningful asset categories can streamline asset management processes, improve asset visibility, and facilitate more efficient decision-making. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add an asset category within the Fogwing Asset+ platform.
Steps to add Asset Category in the Fogwing Asset+:
Login to your Fogwing Asset+ account by visiting https://app.assetplus.ai/
Click on the Settings menu item present on the menu bar.
Once on the settings page, click on Asset Management in the navigation bar and then on the "Asset Category section."
You will be navigated to the "Asset Category" page, where you can add and manage the asset categories.
Click on the Add Asset Category Button.
The 'Add Asset Category' form will appear.
Please enter the required data in the respective field and press the 'Submit' button.
Please note the details of each parameter required to add an Asset Category in the Fogwing Asset+.

Plant | Choose the Plant for which you wish to add the asset category. |
Asset Category Name | Mention the name of the asset category. |
Asset Category Code | Mention or generate the Asset Category code. |
2. How do you add an asset to the asset category in the Fogwing Asset+ Platform?
Steps to add an Asset to the Asset Category in the Fogwing Asset+:
Once you are on the Asset Category Page in the Fogwing Asset+ platform.
Click on the three dots under the action section.
Click on the View/Edit.
Edit Asset Category form will open.
Click on the Asset tab.
You will be directed to the asset category tab in the edit asset category form. Search or select the required asset and click on the Update button.
Note: You can also assign assets to the categories. To add an asset category, follow the same procedure before clicking the submit button.

Once you are on the Asset Category Page in the Fogwing Asset+ platform.
Click on the three dots under the action section.
Click on the View/ Edit option.
Edit Asset Category form will open.
Click on the Teams tab.
You will be directed to the Teams tab in the edit asset category form. Search or select the required asset maintenance team and

Click on the three dots under the action section for the asset category you wish to delete.
Click on the "Delete".
You will receive a pop-up with the message "Are you sure to delete Asset Category_ name"?
Click on "Yes" to delete the asset category.
