'Manufacturing Work Order' refers to sub-orders, tasks, or jobs assigned to machine operators or supervisors to complete the given manufacturing orders. Work order helps track the individual part production status, predict the completion dates, and help estimate the final manufacturing order completion timeline accurately.
Pre-condition – Plant, assets, and parts should be created in SFactrix prior to creating a work order. You should be an account admin, plant manager, or supervisor to create a work order belonging to the same plant.
How to create Production Work Orders using SFactrix?
Login to your SFactrix.ai app by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.
From the settings page, under Actions, click on the 'Work Order' card.
Click the ‘Add Work-Order’ button on the work order page.
'Add Work order' form will appear. Fill the form with proper data as shown below.
Please note: Enter the accurate date range which is critical for generating work order-based asset efficiency and Production Performance Report
Click the 'submit' button. You will have successfully created the work order.
Please note the details of each parameter required to complete the work order creation.

Work Order Code | Enter a WO code for identification purpose |
Work Order Name | Enter a WO name. |
Choose an asset select | Select an asset from the drop-down list for which the Work order will be linked. (Drop-down list will contain the work centers linked to plant selected in the above field) |
Part/Item Code | Choose the part code from the drop-down menu for which the work order is created. |
Work Order quantity | Mention the number of parts to be produced in this work order. |

Start Date | Set the date from the calendar icon to start the work order. Set the date accurately as this date range should be within the Work Order date range which is linked to this work order. |

How to assign work order execution?
A work order which is yet to start can be executed by the operators, supervisors, or plant managers. Each work order should be assigned to an executive for better monitoring and control of the work order's progress. The plant manager or supervisor can assign a production work order to the operators, supervisors, and plant manager himself to execute the work order. Follow the steps to assign a production work order:
Go to the work order page on SFactrix.ai
Choose the work order you want to assign to an executive.
Click on the three dots under ''Action''.
Click on assign.
Choose an assignee from the drop-down menu (Work orders can be assigned to plant managers, job operators, and factory supervisors).
Click on the update button.
You have successfully assigned the work order to the selected executive.
How to edit/update Production Work Orders?
You should be an account admin, plant manager, or supervisor belonging to the same plant to edit the work order.
Steps to edit/update the Work order in SFactrix:
o Use your credentials and log in to your SFactrix.ai account.
o From the settings page, under 'Actions', click on the ‘Work Order’ card.
o 'Work Order' display page will appear.
o Click the ‘Edit’ icon on the work order you wish to edit/update.
o Make the necessary edits/update to work order specifics.
o Click on ‘Update’ button to save changes.
Understanding the Summary Cards of Work Order:
The four 'status' cards are displayed on the top of the 'Work Order' page. These cards display the summary of the work order status. The status of the work order is derived from the schedule or the date range set for each work order.
How to delete Production Work Orders?
You should be an account admin, plant manager, or supervisor belonging to the same plant to delete the work orders.
Steps to delete work order in SFactrix:
o Login to your SFactrix.ai account.
o Click on the ‘work order’ card from the settings page, under 'Actions'.
o 'Work Order' display screen will appear.
o Click on the ‘Edit’ icon on the work order you wish to delete.
o Click the ‘Delete’ button on the 'Edit work-order' page to delete the selected work order.
o Click on the ‘Yes’ button when you receive a pop-up stating, ‘Are you sure to delete? This deletes the work order chosen.
Why am I not able to delete the Work Order?
You should be an account admin or plant manager belonging to the same plant to delete the Work order.
You will be allowed to delete the work order only when the work order is not started or in progress, ie. when the work order status shows 'Yet to start' or 'in progress'.
A 'completed' or 'expired' work order cannot be deleted.
What are the different stages for Work Orders?
'Status' describes the status of the work, if the work is ready to start, the work order is progressing, the work order is completed, or the work order is expired. The status also depends on the date range set for each work order and the quantity of production. The 'Status' of the work order appears on the work orders Listing page as well as on summary cards. There are 5 different status levels for a work orders.
There are 5 status levels for Work Order in SFactrix as explained below.
Status | Description |
Yet to start | When the asset linked to the work order has not started for production and the date range set to the work order is the future date. |
In Progress | When the asset linked to the work order is in the production stage and the date range set to the work order falls to the current date. |
Completed | When the asset linked to the work order completes producing the assigned quantity. |
Halt | When the production pauses for some reason, the work order status goes to 'Halt' condition. |
Expired | When the date set for the work order is expired and the quantity assigned for production is not complete. |
Quality vs Quantity in Orders?
'Qlty' indicates the number of good quality (which passes the Quality Check test) products produced. 'Qty' indicates the total number of products assigned for production. Referring to the below example, 72/1000 indicates the total number of items assigned to the work order is 1000 and the number of good quality items being produced at that particular time is 72.
What is 'Rejection Count' on the work orders listing page in SFactrix?
'Rejection Count' indicates the number of scrap items i.e., the number of items which does not pass the QC (Quality Check) test under a particular work order. In the below example, the rejection count is 8, which means out of 80 products being produced, 8 are scrap items.
What is 'Progress' on the 'work order' listing page in SFactrix?
'Progress' on the work order listing page indicates the extent of work order completion. Dark blue on the line indicates the quantity of work order completion and when you mouseover, the percentage (7.2% in the below example) of work order completion is displayed.
