We are excited to introduce the latest enhancements and new features in Fogwing CMMS Version 2.30. These updates are designed to improve user experience, strengthen maintenance workflows, and provide better visibility and control over asset management activities.
In this article, you will find a detailed overview of the newly released features, improvements, and system enhancements aimed at increasing operational efficiency, simplifying maintenance processes, and enhancing overall platform usability.
1. Enhanced Work Order Page
Previously, the View Work Order and Approve Work Order functionalities were available as pop-ups, which limited usability.
With this release:
A dedicated page for “View / Approve Work Order” has been introduced
Users are redirected to this page instead of a pop-up
The interface now provides better visibility and a more user-friendly experience
2. Create Work Order with Parts Allocation
Previously, parts could not be allocated during manual Work Order creation.
Now:
Users can allocate parts directly while creating a Work Order
This functionality is aligned with the Preventive Maintenance module
It ensures materials are planned and reserved upfront, improving execution efficiency
3. Parts Usage Approval Workflow
An approval workflow has been introduced for parts usage.
Key highlights:
A new “Parts Approval” option is available in both Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance modules
When enabled, approval requests are sent to plant managers/supervisors via email
Approvers can review, approve, or reject parts allocation requests
This ensures proper authorization and tracking of part usage
4. Part Reservation View (Part 360 Enhancements)
Enhancements have been made to improve inventory visibility:
Separate sub-tabs under Part 360 → Usage:
Reservations (allocated/reserved parts)
Usage (consumed parts after WO completion)
Users can:
View Work Orders associated with reserved parts
Track reservation details independently from actual usage
Gain clearer insights into inventory allocation vs consumption
5. Introduction of New Work Order Types
Work Order types have been updated to align with SMRP guidelines.
Updated list includes:

Corrective (CM) | Newly introduced; similar to On-demand |
Preventive (PM) | Remains unchanged |
Predictive (PdM) | Newly introduced; triggered based on meter readings |

6. Preventive Maintenance Schedule Enhancements
The Preventive Maintenance module has been expanded into a more flexible maintenance scheduling system.
Users can now select Work Order types while creating schedules
Supported WO types include:
Preventive
Inspection
Calibration
Safety Compliance
Service
Enables centralized scheduling of multiple maintenance activities
7. Enhanced Reports – Downtime Report
A new detailed Downtime Report has been introduced to improve visibility of downtime events.
Earlier reports provided only summary-level downtime and KPI data
The new report includes:
Asset details
Downtime start and end times
Total downtime
Fault details
Associated Work Orders
Filters available:
Month
Plant/Facility
Asset Category
8. Fogwing CMMS Mobile App Update
The mobile application has been updated to improve usability and visibility for field users.
Acknowledge assigned work orders in a single click for improved tracking
New tab to view parent Work Order details for child Work Orders (Manager/Admin/Supervisor roles)
New Work Order Types – Added Calibration, Safety, Corrective, and Predictive; Fault (Repair) renamed to Breakdown
Enhancements – Performance improvements and bug fixes
The latest version of the Fogwing CMMS mobile app is now available on the Play Store and App Store
