In SFactrix, Asset based rules will facilitate to set thresholds for production performance parameters to completion of jobs in manufacturing environment. The threshold triggers alerts and warnings to the user on the variations of the system conditions. These alerts help the manufacturers take appropriate decisions/steps to align production processes. This aids in smooth operations, reduces downtime, improves efficiency of operations, and better process monitoring.

How to set the rules based alerts in SFactrix application?

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • From the settings page, under Actions, click on the 'Rules’ card.

  • Click on 'Add Rule' button.

  • The 'Add Rule' form will appear. Here you can choose the type of rules and conditions based on your expectations.

Click the submit button. You will have successfully created the Rule for the asset chosen.

Please note the details of each parameter required to complete the Rule creation.

Field

Description

Choose an asset

Choose an asset from the drop-down menu for which the rule has to be created.

Rule Key

(You can choose only one attribute at a time)

Choose the attribute from the given list for which the threshold needs to be assigned.

Rules Condition

('Rules condition' is enabled only after you select the 'Rule Key')

Choose the limit for the threshold to which the rules have to be triggered.

Value

('Value' box is enabled only after you select the 'Rules condition')

Enter the threshold value under the 'Value' section in the 'Custom Input' box.

Actions

Choose 'Alert-type' based on the criticality of the alert, whether the message you receive for a particular alert should be 'Warning', 'Critical', or just an 'info'.

Email

Enter your email ID to receive an email regarding the alert.

  • Once you have set the rules and set the email ID to receive an email regarding the alert, below image shows a sample alert email when the threshold set is crossed.

How to create OEE based alerts in SFactrix application?

You can set alerts for multiple parameters in SFactrix. One of the important parameters for any manufacturing unit is OEE level which helps understand the performance and efficiency of production operations.

OEE refers Overall Equipment Efficiency which measures the utilization of the asset to its peak utilization capacity during its scheduled time of operation.

OEE is calculated with the below formula,

OEE = Availability * Performance * Quality

(To know more on how to calculate OEE, please click on the link below

OEE is calculated based on the data received by the smart intelligent systems and the OEE metrics is displayed on the dashboard in SFactrix as shown below.

OEE is used to compare the asset performance, quality of production and asset availability to industry standards. OEE is used to track progress by eliminating the wastes and reducing the downtime of the asset thereby improving productivity and efficiency. Hence, tracking OEE and setting alerts to scrutinize the thresholds is crucial. Follow the below steps to set alerts for OEE.

  • Login to your SFactrix.ai account by going to https://app.sfactrix.ai.

  • From the settings page, under Actions, click on the 'Rules’ card.

Click on 'Add Rule'.

The 'Add Rule' form will appear. Fill the form with proper data as shown below.

Click the submit button. You will have successfully set alerts to track OEE for the asset chosen.

Please note the details of each parameter required to complete the Rule creation.

What's next?

Once you are done creating the Rules for the asset, next step is to create maintenance to the assets in the manufacturing unit. Maintenance Register of SFactrix refers to the scheduled maintenance for each asset involved in the process of manufacturing.
